Nowadays a conscience about environmental sustainability has been developed and strategies to design more efficient buildings and to judge environmental friendly projects have been standardized. Regulations and certifications surely are needed because modern architects used to forget about the special relationship a building should have with the surrounding environment and its location. It is fortunate to have the chance to design a building and to reconnect it to the nature once again.

For the exterior remodel of the building an integrated design approach allowed to consider the used of Photo-voltaic panels as cladding material providing both protection to the staircase and power to the office activities.
